I'm an award-winning freelance writer with almost twenty years of professional writing and public speaking experience. I specialize in health, fitness, personal finance, and lifestyle topics.
My credits include Health, Better Homes and Gardens, Cooking Light, Bankrate.com, Natural Health, Oxygen, The Rotarian, Wealth Manager, Natural Solutions (formerly Alternative Medicine), American Fitness, and IDEA Fitness Journal.
I also write about personal finance and small business issues for custom publishers, including Time, Inc. Content Solutions and Meredith Integrated Marketing.
I have a strong business background, an MBA in public relations, and I was a CPA in a former life. Although I didn't enjoy my life as a CPA, it was terrific training for writing about personal finance and small business issues.
On a personal note...
I'm proud to say that I'm an actual Atlanta native. I think there are around five of us in the entire metro area. Currently, I live in Alpharetta, Georgia, a northern suburb of Atlanta, with my husband, our two children, an emotionally needy Shih Tzu, a water snake, and about five tropical fish (at least there were five the last time I counted).
I love to exercise and my routine includes yoga, power walking, some jogging, and weight training. I'm also a sports news junkie and a lifelong Atlanta Braves fan.
I've been working on a novel, which is set in a small town in Georgia. I've rewritten the first page about 2,000 times so I know it's really good. I've discovered it's a lot easier to write a novel when you stop rewriting the first page.
