About Me
Home
I'm a personal finance author with more than twenty years of professional writing and public speaking experience. I'm also a credit card expert and spokeswoman for Credit.com. If you're with the press, click here to see my media bio.

I'm co-author of The Complete Idiot's Guide to Person-to-Person Lending (Alpha Books/Penguin, 2009) and it's available on Amazon and in major bookstores. Currently, I'm co-authoring Simple Numbers, Straight Talk, Big Profits: Four keys to unlock your business potential (Greenleaf Publishing). This book will be published in June 2011.

I'm also an award-winning finance journalist and my byline has appeared in a variety of national magazines, websites, and custom publications including Better Homes and Gardens, Good Housekeeping, Health, Bankrate.com, Cooking Light, CreditCards.com, Bottom Line Wealth, Natural Health, makinglifebetter.com, Wealth Manager, The Rotarian, Navy Federal, Your Business, Natural Solutions, Better Health & Living, Arthritis Today, and Oxygen.

I have an MBA in public relations and I was a CPA in a former life. Although I didn't enjoy my life as a CPA, it was terrific training for writing about personal finance and small business issues. I'm also an active member of the American Society of Journalists and Authors.

On a personal note...

I'm proud to say that I'm an actual Atlanta native. I think there are around five of us in the entire Metro Atlanta area. Currently, I live in Johns Creek, Georgia, a northern suburb of Atlanta, with my husband, our two children, an emotionally-needy Shih Tzu, two snakes (allowing the snakes has elevated me to "cool mom" status among my son's peers), and three tropical fish.

I love to exercise and my routine includes yoga, interval training (walking/running), step aerobics, and weight training. I'm also a sports news junkie and a lifelong Atlanta Braves fan.
